Dota 2 continues its run at the Esports World Cup in 2026, reinforcing its role as a staple of the event’s competitive programme.

The tournament brings together leading teams from across the international scene, showcasing high-level play on one of esports’ biggest global stages.

Previous editions have already shaped the tournament’s legacy. Gaimin Gladiators claimed the first Dota 2 championship at EWC 2024, followed by Team Spirit’s title-winning performance in 2025, where they delivered a commanding run through the bracket.

Dota 2 is a 5v5 multiplayer online battle arena where teams choose from 126 heroes across two roles: Core and Support. Each hero has a unique set of abilities that shapes their playstyle, and players work together to push lanes, defeat enemy heroes, and ultimately destroy the opposing team’s Ancient.
